TEAS & LUNCHEONS FOR 5th GRADERS

Common Ground supports the teas and luncheons at three of our adopted schools. This gives students an opportunity to dress up and enjoy a special meal with adult volunteers from Common Ground. There is a book theme that goes along with the events and students each receive their own copy of the book!

BIKES 4 KIDS

Common Ground assembles bicycles to be given to one grade of students at select schools each year.

BOOKS 4 KIDS

The Common Ground Books 4 Kids program puts a "starter library" in each student's home. Each year, their library grows by at least one additional book. You can help by donating new or gently used elementary-reading-level books from your own family's collection.

THANKSGIVING & SPRING BREAK FOOD BOXES

Twice a year, more than 90 families from our adopted schools are given boxes of food to help supplement their meals during the week-long Thanksgiving Break and two-week-long Spring Break. For students at our Common Ground adopted schools, a week away from the nutritious meals that are provided for them at school can negatively impact their health.

Due to the generosity of the members of the three Common Ground churches, the community, and donors, we are able to give two full boxes of food to each family. A variety of non-perishable and fresh foods such as bread, tortillas, fruit, potatoes, carrots, cheese, and eggs are included. Thank you Valley Farm Market (Campo Rd., Spring Valley), Grocery Outlet (Casa de Oro), Bimbo's Bread/Bakery, Boney's Market (Coronado), and Walmart for your generous gifts.
